The disrespect that dwindle in the creative arts industry is simply disheartening.
We leave in a nation where people don’t appreciate creativity and why wouldn’t we dwell in the darkness of civilization?
I take a quote from music Icon Rex Omar who once stated that ”the creative industry is the eye of every nation” but what do we see?
Nothing! Because there’s glacouma on the eye, several government have always dwell their focus on fruitless activities, initiatives and sectors without considering the industry on a equal dispense.
If we can give the same focus we give the education sector which has produce so many unemployed liabilities in the country to our creative industry,Ghana will be reaping some cash!
Look at expenses we make for Black Stars alone but yet we gain nothing in return for our investment.
Oh! If only we will have a government that would be wise enough to see the returns the nation can derive from supporting the country’s creative minds,we wouldn’t be so poor and jobless.
But hold up!
I almost forgot Rex Omar’s statement, why can any government see this when the eye suffers terrible glaucoma since nobody takes any special interest in taking care of it..
Sit down and do the analysis and calculate the number of job opportunities the nation can create through the creative arts.
Have you taken the time to look at how many people Sarkodie,Stonebwoy,Shatta Wale and other great creative minds have employed and feeding?
Creative arts is jumping to a new horizon in Ghana even without any proper government recognition.
Ask around the number of jobs that event organizers create for the youth. I don’t want to talk indepth as though these leaders don’t know what needs to be done.
Government should go the United States and ask around, they should learn the policies the US government put in place for its creative industry.
Let the nation take care of its eye and let the eye be ready and positioned itself for treatments.
