A man has died after falling down the
chimney of a seven-storey building in
The incident took place at a residential
property in Great Cumberland Place in
Police discovered the body of a 20-year-old
man shortly before 1am.
London Fire Brigade, Air Ambulance and
Ambulance Service also attended but the
man could not be saved.
Metropolitan Police say that they believe he
was sitting on the roof of the property when
he fell backwards into the chimney.
The man’s family has been notified.
Inspector Ian Bond of Westminster Police
said: “This was a difficult and protracted
recovery and is an excellent example of
partnership working between all three
“Our thoughts are with the young man’s
family at this sad time.”
