UAE football giants Al Ahli have officially unveiled new signing Asamoah Gyan ahead of the start of the Arabian Gulf League season. The ceremony took place at the club’s secretariat in Dubai on Sunday afternoon, and saw the Black Stars captain flaunting his number 3 jersey (although he is expected be wear a number 90 jersey at his new club according to previous reports), with smiles for the cameras.
The 30-year-old moved fast to secure a season long loan with UAE giants Al Ahli after failing to secure a similar move to Reading.
Meanwhile Asamoah Gyan has revealed that former club Al Ain refused to grant him the chance to return to the club hence his loan move to Al Ahli. Speaking on GHONE TV, Gyan revealed he understands the bitterness of the Al Ain fans but cannot be faulted for joining their biggest title rivals.

“I spoke to them a couple of months ago [but] they told me they’ve had their recruitment [and] everything was okay so I had no chance there”

“I’m very happy where I am [Al Ahli] today.
The new UAE Pro League begins September 17 and Gyan is expected to introduce his goal scoring prowess to aid his new side.
