One of Ghana’s most powerful kings, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, has revealed the truth about how former president Mahama regrets ever no listening to his advice.
In an interaction with president Akufo-Addo at the Manhyia palace during his visit of the Ashanti region, the Asante king revealed that almost all former presidents have highly acknowledged the weight of his advice to them.
“I had conversations with former presidents and they admitted they should have listened to my counsel. Rawlings and Kufuor were all here; I spoke with Prof. Mills ten days before his death and he said the same thing.
Shortly after his term ended, President Mahama was here and he mentioned he ignored a number of things I counselled him on which he has paid dearly for,” Otumfuo said.
It might not be sure what advice the Asantehene may have given Mahama but YEN believes it could have been about the chances of losing the 2016 elections if he does not either consider the plights of the Ashanti region or that of Ghanaians as a whole.
