VRA says no more dumsor as stable power is restored

The Volta River Authority will not be releasing any new load-shedding timetable as the authority maintains that stable power supply has been restored to the country.
Speaking on Accra-based Joy FM, the Head of Communications at the VRA, Gertrude Koomson assured that power supply has improved over the weeks and is set to only get even better.

According to Madam. Koomson, most of the inactive turbines that help generate electrical power are back now being powered by steam. This would suggest that despite claims by opposition parties that the “dumsor” problem is due to government’s inability to purchase fuel to power the country’s turbines, Ghanaian should expect a much more stable power supply over the coming weeks.

“It is all because fuel supply to Tema and Aboadze has improved tremendously,” Gertrude Koomson said. She added, “We have enough light crude oil to last more than two weeks…we have enough fuel in stock treated and ready to use.”

Deputy Power Minister, John Jinapor also highlighted to that NDC government had been able to stabilise Ghana’s power situation for the past one week after tumultuous two weeks.
